Malaysia Airlines and Philippine Airlines have expanded their codeshare partnership, with covered routes effective 02 November 2026.

Under the arrangement, Malaysia Airlines will operate Kuala Lumpur services to Medan Kualanamu, Phuket and Surabaya for Philippine Airlines. Philippine Airlines will in turn operate its Manila to Toronto Pearson and Manila to Vancouver routes for Malaysia Airlines under the codeshare.

Separate schedule filings show Malaysia Airlines will run Sydney-Cape Town three times weekly using Boeing 787-9 aircraft with 236 total seats. São Paulo flights will use Airbus A330-200 aircraft operated by Wamos Air, with 286 passenger capacity. Additional Shanghai Pudong - Melbourne services will also use the A330-200.

Malaysia Airlines filed expanded Airbus A330-900neo network plans in early November, with operations starting mid-January 2027. Between 03 May 2027 and 31 May 2027, the Kuala Lumpur to Perth route will operate one weekly flight using 737 MAX 8 aircraft instead of A330 models.
