The carrier has 167 seats on order for the aircraft that have sat in storage since August 2018.
United Airlines has placed an order for 167 seats on the Boeing 737 Max 10 aircraft, which have remained in storage since August 2018.
The order comes as Boeing secured approval for the 737 Max 7 earlier this month, a variant that Southwest Airlines expects to begin flying in the first half of 2027. Southwest accounts for roughly 90% of the 737 Max 7 orders and targets early 2027 for revenue service during the first quarter.
United recently outfitted a subfleet of Airbus A321neo narrow-body aircraft with 20 newly designed Polaris suites for transcontinental routes.
